Cottage, Thunder Beach. 1963.
We had school friends whose parents had a beautiful property overlooking Georgian Bay, and who wanted to build a family cottage. I expressed an interest in helping them and this became my first architectural project. I asked Enn Kayari, a fellow recent graduate, to give me a hand and we designed the cottage. There is a road between the cottage and the beach, so we raised the living level above the garage and storage areas, so that we are in fact looking at the water and not the road.
